Brown Bag

$10 for a salad with 4 toppings. I don't know I rather eat fast food else where or get potbelly. I don't like the bread that comes with it and u can't substitute it for anything. Worst part is I didn't want bread on it since I am trying to eat gluten free and this touched my food. Was not even asked if I wanted bread. I wish u can substitute it for an extra salad topping. Young office worker crowd here,looks like a group of healthy people, well dressed. Food is good but salad dressing is meh( my life would be better without it; I did not have any dressing-yes that bad in the opinion of my tough palette), I had the lemon vinaigrette and it tastes like it came out of a large tub where the consistency is thick and slimy. Good to try once but I rather have dressings out of a bottle if I had a choice of the two. - adjusted review, I went and tried another dressing since I really didn't like my lemon vinaigrette, here I tried house Dijon. Expecting it to be yellow.... it was pink!!!!? Why? Taste remind me of dressing in old cafeteria that comes out of a pump tub...color reminds me of cheap soap that comes out of public restroom dispensers.....

I'm not really a salad girl (always too much lettuce!) but I love their Roasted Chicken Salad. I've dined in once and ordered online once, both at dinner time and both were great experiences. Staff doesn't seem particularly warm and friendly but again, I've only gone at end of the day when they're probably exhausted and trying to close up shop. Can't dock them for that.

This place has gotten worse over the past 2 years. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese, realized after I picked it up that there was no bacon ($1.50 wasted). I guess they were too busy working on other orders and it slipped through (just kidding, no one is ever here). Whole place gives off big "going out of business soon" vibes. Tell me the pictured sandwich was worth $6 and I'll show you a bridge for sale.

I have been there twice, both before the pandemic. The quality was OK, the store was clean, and the service was OK. The first time, for a breakfast, I was the only customer, ordered an omelette, Expensive, more than 8$,(without any beverages ). I went there the 2nd time for a lunch, the store was a little bit crowded, but I saw 2 issues this time, high price again for a simple salad ( more than 11$), and low customer service quality, mostly seemed management issue than the employees issues. Since then, I have decided not go there anymore.

The food is delicious but if you come during the lunch rush, there is little organization and it makes it difficult to order in the store as people jump the line and there is little direction on where to go. For those who haven't been here before, you'll notice one long food station like when you order from a Subway. However, it's broken into 3 stations: sandwiches, noodles, and salads, each indicated with a tiny sign above where they make the food. Each station has its own separate line and while it's a good thought, the open floor plan and order system (you write your order on a card), it makes lines chaotic since the guests don't know who are making their order on the cards or who are waiting in line, and which line they're waiting in. The food is good; just try to come when they're not busy to ensure an enjoyable experience.

The Brown Bag in Reston is my favorite stop for breakfast. The owner runs a great business. When our office was in DC I used to go to the Brown Bag there and this one is just as good. I absolutely love the Greek Omelette, home fries and the American Favorite. Also love the bacon (perhaps the most). They have a great lunch too. Thanks for having this great restaurant so close to my work! Great and friendly staff too who are always smiling!
